In 1817, the Bank of Geneva was organized and
operated in this building. James Reese, the head cashier, lived upstairs. The
north wing was added as a president’s office and an directors room. Notice the
Federal balustrade on the roof as well as the fine moldings around the door and
windows that identify the style.
